"A son is a son till he takes him a wife, a daughter is a daughter all of her life”

An Angel Left Her Wings
I have this little angel. For me she left her wings.
She has no idea how much happiness she truly brings.
She brightens up my days with her smiles and her laughs.
She helps me to remember all the blessings that I have.

Her face, it is so perfect, she's sweet and soft and pure.
Sometimes she can be willful and sometimes she is demure.
She tries her very hardest to please and do what's right.
She gives the greatest hugs from morning until night.

Every person that has known her sees this light within her soul
I know that in this whole great world, she has a special role.
She's helpful and considerate to everyone she knows
This light in her shines brighter as my angel grows.

When she sees someone is sad, it opens up her heart.
She wants to do all that she can; she wants to do her part.
She'll squeeze away the sorrow and make me forget about my pain.
She shows me where the sun is when we're hiding from the rain.

I know that God must love me, He showed me with His Grace
I knew just how completely when I saw my angel's face.
And in that very moment when she came into my world,
I knew that she was so much more than just my baby girl.

She would be my sunshine, with a sweetness that won't end.
And when she grows up one day she would be my closest friend.
She would be the reason I would always try my best.
For my little angel baby girl would be my greatest test.

When God entrusts to you an angel, who has left her wings for you.
Encircle her with love with everything you do.
Let her know God made her, and that He trusts you with her care.
Be sure to make time for special moments with her to share.

And when at night she finally says her prayers and goes to sleep
I Thank Him for my angel, and ask for him to always keep
A watchful eye and hand to protect her from this world.
Protect my little angel; protect my baby girl.

Pakies vs Indies...

“Pakistan will play a World Cup semi final in India on March 30, after they beat West Indies in Dhaka”

After hearing this thrilling headlines, 30 March became the most awaited day for the people of Sub Continent. The craze was in the air, people were excited but nervous too. It was more of a war then a cricket match. Fans all around the world were scrambling for tickets and the employees were thinking of excuses to make at work to watch the match. Excitement and pressure were hand in hand. Expectation became high as Pakistan showed impressive performance in

the tournament. Six waiting days seemed to be a decade. People were confident as their were many predictions indicating Pakistan, A Winner. Whether it was on office, classroom or home, the only topic left to discuss was Pak-India Semi final. Prayers were held in Mosques and streets were packed up with projector screens. The thrill made it more pressurized for the cricket players as well. People of age groups were ready for the day and were supporting their team.
We also organized an event in our department for the buck up and show support towards the team by wearing green dupattas, having Pakistan flag painted on faces, and praying together for there victory. Half day off announced by the government made faces happier and relaxed.

Although Pakistan did not win the match but the time for togetherness of all Pakies left a mark on everyone memories that it was the best example of unity.

Live in the Memories...

Time for togetherness:

Before students of Jinnah University for women, commerce department, they want to leave a mark on their memories which will stay on forever. It is the basic concept behind arranging a party which is organized on 27.02.2011 at “Kangan Lawn”.
Every student is bustling about here and there and passionately practicing for tabloos, modeling, and skits for the very day.
Teachers also seem to be intoxicated with the excitement of the students,

“it is very healthy activity and ground for the students to prepare them for their practical life," said chairperson of commerce dept, Ms Kiran Azeem.

Furthermore, the excitement of students was on peak. As Sara Abrar, proctor of commerce dept said,

“this kind of event provides platform to the students to gain mutual understand between seniors and juniors”.

This idea also supported by Mussarrat, organizer of the event, adds,

“We are very optimistic that everyone is going to enjoy and have a blasting evening which would be remembered by all.”

P.S. Alternate news story instead railway blast.

Prudent gossipy butterflies…

To apply mehndi on hands,
To polish your nails,
To check your singing ability,
To chattering with buddies

You’ll find all in one at e-8 in BBA department of Jinnah University for women.
Let’s fly gossipy butterflies to common room, opened newly for them (actually, it was a seminar room but after our VC changed, no one’s attention diverted towards this, then it became a common room- brief history).
 Hold on…!!! What is this???
“Common room only for BBA girls”, written on the white board of common room. Oh…

Don’t worry. If it is written then what, we can’t sit there, who said this? We are the butterflies and don’t need any restrictions. Many girls of different departments have been roaming there all the time and removed the words where it was mentioned that “it is only for BBA dept”
Nevertheless, girls are pleased to have this common room.
“It is very nice to be here because it is very airy room, lots of fans here. I feel relax here,” said Sara Mustafa, student of BBA 3-year. Before Sara completed her words, her friend Tooba Naseer added her views in it, “although the idea of having a common room is very appreciative but it needs bit maintenance, it’s very messy. There should be dustbins.”

Yes. It is very airy when I went there I feel relax too… as Saman Siddiqui said, “good for a little break but its more ‘common’ than It should be.”

Hmmm, true. I was amazed to see the girls who were sleeping there, without any hesitation. A group of girls were playing Antakshri with full volume. Mehndi, nail polishing, the whole beauty parlor you can see over there, seems like a Meena Bazaar.

Well, it is a common room and the greater thing is that it is common room for girls. So, we can expect it. I enjoyed a lot there. I applied Mehndi on my hands free of cost. Isn’t it amazing in today’s world???

After there, I headed towards staff room to ask the teachers what they feel to have a common room for girls. They are quite happy and shared their views.

“Good for BBA dept as we already have shortage of room so, students have a space to sit in a room rather than in the corridor,” Ms Adia, lecturer of BBA dept.

That’s great…!!!
God, please have mercy on mass-communicators so that they can bring out their hidden talents... :D :P

Midterms... welcome, welcome.. :)

Qiraaaaat…
Qiraaaaat…
My friend was shouting. I turned back and saw her. She came near to me and angrily said,” papers will start from Monday, (07.03.2011), what is this yar”
I was shocked and about to faint because I felt as I am attacked with some drone missile. My hands were shivering and everything was circumvolving.
My friend shook me & said, “oye kuriye(hey girl)… don’t be so over. It’s a midterm not a terminal, so control”.
I came back to my senses and replied innocently, “oh yes…!!!But yaar exams are exams and we have nothing to study”
Yes, exam’s fever was everywhere and especially, where students like me, who merely study at the end of time. Proud to say this. :D but hold on.. It doesn’t mean that I don’t study.
After this I ran towards library but what came into my eyes, everyone was already there and was searching about the topics. I asked to librarian that is there any book left? She smiled and replied, “Don’t you really think that”
Oh no…! na na no bad luck. I was still optimistic because I knew it, I had a great source to get all, and that is my friends.  I went to my friends and demanded to copy their notes. Luckily they gave me but with one condition that they wanted their notes within an hour.
I know there wasn’t any problem because Photostat shop is available in university.

As we know exams were at hand. So, didn’t find any single place there. Girls rushed there and was screaming my notes first my notes first. That time I totally lost my hopes. Then one quote stroked on my mind,
“If there is a will there is a way”
Then what??? I jumped into the girls.
By the grace of God, I got all work to study for midterms and Thanks to friend and Photostat shop’s uncle (done my work secretly while he wasn’t taking any work of any girl). :P

Whew…!!!
These exams na, I tell you very easy way to threaten the student’s life. God forbid. Now, I’ll b entangled in these things again because terminals are about to begin.

Please God..!!! Help me and shower your blessings upon me… Ameen :)

MeLa...!!! A Day of EnJoYmEnT...

Let's know about MELA first: MELA is a Sanskrit word meaning 'gathering' or 'to meet' or a Fair. It is used in the Indian subcontinent for all sizes of gathering and can be religious, commercial, and cultural and sports.

A Mela is simply a festival. (A festival is an event, usually and ordinarily staged by a local community, which centers on and celebrates some unique aspect of that community) But the tradition and meaning of Mela is ancient. Indian civilization can be dated back to 10,000BC, using dates for astronomical events described in the earliest Vedas or sacred scriptures. Mela organize for some basic purposes :
·         Serves to meet specific needs.
·         To provide entertainment.
·         Seek to inform people to their traditions.
·         Transfer certain knowledge to the next generation.

JUW Mela:
Mela held on 26.mar.2011 at Jinnah University for women. Students got off for enjoyment from their studious schedule, that’s quite blessed and enough. Entertainment were its on peak, more than 80 stalls were there. Students and outsider arranged stalls, while Art faculty suffered badly due to their stalls arrangement, which were on sandy area and tent was not able to protect them from sunny hotty rays. But still, they arranged their stalls with great enthusiasm. Clothes, mehndi, chooriyan, face painting, palmistry, decoration pieces, art work and foodie stalls were everywhere. The best part, there were rides, many girls and kiddies headed towards it. Actually, it reminded them their childhood days. Dj was playing latest songs, “music was in the air”. All munniS and sheilaS were on the dancing floor (garden area, which was seemed like a dance floor). But the question rises here, what we had informed to others about our tradition? Because MEDIA channels (best source to transfer knowledge to others) were covering the Mela event.  Anyways, MPA Sindh, Faisal Sabzwari and Raza Haroon were invited to visit Mela. They appreciated both the efforts of administration and students. They both acclaimed that they were pleased to be here and such festivals should arranged to bring colors in lives.  This event sat an example of enjoyment to the upcoming students. After a long time, this Mela brought beautiful smiles on the faces of Juwarians.

Art's wOrld...

"Color is fun; color is just plain gorgeous, a gourmet meal for the eye, and the window of the soul." - Rachel Wolf.

You see, artwork is concerning the connection among artist and audience. For this, Visual Studies Department of Jinnah University for women placed white boards on wall and classrooms, on which student’s art work paste on it. It is the way to define the student’s Art work.
“It is very effective for our work; they give us inspiration and ideas which help us to enhance our work,” said Tasneem, student of VS dept.
I was impressed when I saw their art work. All boards were full with student’s creation. It seemed like an Art gallery. I asked a girl who was pasting her art work on board, she commented,  “It feels good when your work on board and everyone sees them and appreciates them with appraises.”
Another girl added her words,“other dept’s students visit here and are amazed while see these. Through boards, our work is promoted and looks more colorful”

Encouragement raises the spirit of students and helps them to aim higher. Whether it can be through boards because Artist does much when his/her work appreciated more.
